These Hong Kong Photos were taken back in 2011 when I did my Round-the-World trip. I flew in from London to Hong Kong before continuing to Sydney after some days. Although I’ve been here only for a short time, I really fell in love with this Asian city. Hong Kong is such a melting pot of Western and Asian cultures from all over the world – also combining traditional Chinese markets with a financial district that is heavily influenced by the long time under British government.
If you’re also in Hong Kong for a short time, I highly recommend taking the tram to the top of “The Peak“. This is a viewing platform overlooking the city and you can take great panorama Hong Kong photos from there. When you get back to the Financial District you should walk around the skyscrapers and soak up the very special atmosphere of that area. Afterwards you can take a very inexpensive ferry trip to get to Kowloon and the “more Asian” side of Hong Kong. Heading further north you will come across many small markets, which are even more interesting at night! Soaking up all the different smells and flavours of this Asian city is something you could do for days. If you’re also in the hunt for great photos, there are plenty of motifs to take some of the best Hong Kong photos you can get. Remember to take a travel tripod, as the light show at night is a must-see in Hong Kong!
